  1. n. Contrary to standard industry definitions, software loaded into a dedicated chip which does cool things like rasterize fonts and pictures, compress and decompress images, and interpret page description languages. Microcode software is copied to the dedicated chip with a downloader program. See LX, TX and T2.

  1. n. One array element in the Paper Size Table of Love, arrived at after many meetings and much consternation. The old structure was incomplete, ungeneralized and klugey. Of love was born with this phrase.

  1. bastardization n. Debugger.

  1. n. The common name LC2, often followed by the interrogative Elsie Who? referring to its almost obsolete status.

  1. n. LaserMaster's original printer controller. Originally named the XT/P controller for CAD plots, it became the CAPCard when its use with Ventura took off. Finally changed to LC2 when the term CAP (Computer Aided Publishing) didn't catch on. See also Elsie the Cow.

  1. n. LM’s initial proprietary resolution enhancement technology. Basically, it involves wiggling the laser beam fast than originally intended in order to make partial-sized dots, which will merge with neighboring dots to smooth out the jaggies.   1. n. The first LX product. This architecture upgraded an HP LaserJet to 600x300 dpi, later 600x600 TurboRes, and finally 800x800 TurboRes. The 6 refers to maximum DRAM configuration of 6 Mb.

  1. n. LaserMaster's Series III Professional line of controllers; the general name for the controller architecture that succeeded the LC2. The first product was the LX6.

  2. A Canon laser marking engine.

  1. abbrev. P(i)STOL n. The LX microcode paper size table and its definition of format, perhaps the most classic and definitely the longest-lasting of love phrase, (but not the first!). The Paper Size Table of Love is a two-dimensional array in which each item is a Structure of Love (the first!).

  1. bastardization n. Subway, a buttfood restaurant. Also Scrubway.
